Production Photography - Testimonials

My Kingdom for a What?My Kingdom for a What?Written and Directed by Sophie Mander When directing my debut play, I was extremely pleased to have Jenny Gavin-Wear as my performance photographer. The photographs were hilariously creative and beautifully professional, bursting with vibrant colours and characterful flair! She perfectly captured the comic expressions of my actors, as well as the more tender and touching moments, with expert precision and seamless clarity. I laughed so hard just looking at the pictures! They were also very useful for promoting the production. I would recommend Jenny to anyone who is putting together a production and wants someone to deliver a fabulous finished product.

Not enough stars for the quality of the work and how it was arrived at. Great coffee, tea and Kit Kats!

Marde Hen - Fish and ChipsMarde Hen - Fish and ChipsWritten and directed by Stephen Lee Rees Jenny Gavin-Wear has produced a set of excellent stills for our production 'Fish and Chips'. All praise to her - not only for our spectacular full colour images but also our gorgeous black and white rehearsal shots! These helped tremendously to advertise and promote the show. Jenny's captured the heart of the play - the depth, the warmth, the sadness and the passion. Jenny works extremely hard to get you the best images! Looking forward to our next production stills. Thank you.

Jenny just did a behind the scenes shoot for our short film 'Matinee'

I first met Jenny on a previous film where I immediately saw her passion for her craft. After telling her I was going to direct my first film she immediately jumped at the chance to help out with the stills photography. With having lots to do as director, Jenny worked around us and achieved some remarkable shots that I shall certainly be using to promote the film and will hopefully work with Jenny again in the near future. I would highly recommend JGW photography for any shots you might need, top class..

Jenny captured some brilliant photographs from a recent script read through. Upon arrival she immediately threw herself into it and managed to get some brilliant shots of unsuspecting actors and crew for use with promotion etc. The pictures are great and captured the atmosphere and the event perfectly. Right after the shoot, photos were made available for review and publication online which was fantastic. Further collaborations with Jenny have already been planned and I cannot wait to carry on working with such a talented photographer on future projects.

Jenny has produced some amazing production photos for my play. Her work is outstanding. A true professional when it comes down to taking the right picture and capturing the essence of the show. As a director I felt Jenny to be a pure delight to work with and it really does help immensely that she has a passion for theatre and knows how to get the images you require. First class photographer and I will, without question, use her services again. Jenny - thank you!

The Belper PassionThe Belper Passion

After three months of  hard work and creativity the cast of the Belper Passion were rewarded with a truly evocative portfolio of photographs from the tech and dress rehearsals.  Jenny got straight to the heart of the story as well as bringing out the individual actor's qualities. There were also some impromptu moments captured, reflecting the  relationships  formed in this ensemble piece of theatre. With no time to prepare her for some fast action and varied staging, Jenny's professionalism enabled her to get the best from every opportunity without intruding on a busy rehearsal period.

Thank you Jenny for your  artistry and friendly approach.

Jenny's photographs for our production were stunning. She was so lovely to work with providing some fantastic ideas about the way the photos should be producing fantastic results. Further she was a great person who communicated well between us all at the show. The photos we obtained were fantastic and I was blown away by them. I am so glad to have worked with Jenny- I will definitely be working with her in the future!

Jenny's enthusiasm and commitment to getting interesting action shots was second to none. She was able to snap away successfully without getting in the way of our rehearsals. The photos produced were superb and it was great to be able to display them front of house at our theatre. The photos were uploaded quickly for us to view and we were amazed at how effectively Jenny had captured both the facial expressions of the actors and the lighting effects on the stage. Jenny was extremely approachable and professional and we would certainly use her again.

Jenny spent an evening with us taking headshots of our drama group and will be taking shots of our current play so we can use them for publicity.  The experience was very enjoyable as Jenny is really easy to work with.  Her style brings out the best in everyone she photographs (lots of laughter!) resulting in first rate photos that we will use again and again in our programmes and publicity.  She is hugely accommodating and cares deeply about her work.  Highly recommended.
